Sensex & Nifty- After the realty sector got relief from the government, the Sensex continued its record-making process on Thursday. While the Sensex touched a new historic high of 40,688.27 in intraday trading, it also closed at a new all-time high of 40,653.74, up by 183.96 points. The Sensex touched a high of 40,606.91 on Wednesday and closed at a record level of 40,469.78.
NSE Nifty closes beyond 12,000 after five months
The Nifty closed above 12,000 after five months. It touched an upper level of 12,021.40 and gained 50.05 points to close at 12,016.10. However, it is far from its record level. On June 3, it set a record level of 12,103.05. Sun Pharma recorded the highest 3.02 per cent jump in the Sensex. IndusInd Bank rose 2.88 per cent, Reliance, ITC, Vedanta, Asian Paints, HDFC and Infosys rose over 1 per cent. On the other hand, Yes Bank was the biggest loser at 3.27 per cent. Hindustan Unilever, ONGC, Axis Bank, Tata Motors and Larsen & Toubro were down over 1 per cent.
